NRA registration number obtained!

Since July 1, 2025, an NRA registration code has been required for all types of rentals in Spain. This stands for "Número de Registro de Alquiler" (Allowance Registration Number) and is a unique code required for rentals through platforms like Airbnb or Booking.com.

The Spanish government wants to use this system to better monitor rentals in order to combat illegal practices, tax evasion and the overcrowding of residential areas.

For the landlord, this mainly means some extra administration because the details of all residents must be registered, and for the tenant, some additional obligations regarding personal data.

We at Casita Philona have, of course, requested this number and have since received it. The exact details of how the data will be registered are still a bit unclear, but this will become clearer in the coming weeks and months.
